The Friends of the Albany Library is a 501(c)3 public benefit non-profit, tax ID 94-3085229.
Early each fall, the Albany Branch Manager provides the Board of the Friends of the Albany Library with a proposed list of programs, materials, and projects the Friends could fund.
Each year FAL donates almost $50,000 to benefit the library with programs and various services. Examples include:
Origami and Craft Programs
Storytellers and Performers
Adults and Seniors Programs
United Against Hate Week Events
Genealogical Research Events
Archiving Historic documents
Friends provide magazines and some materials for crafts
After sales, unsold books are donated to local non-profit organizations and Bay Area teachers.
Selected books and magazines are set out for FREE
While we are slowly emerging from Covid restrictions, more events supported by the Friends of the Albany Library will be developed to benefit the community.
