The Friends of the Albany Library is a 501(c)3 public benefit non-profit, tax ID 94-3085229.

Each year FAL donates almost $50,000 to benefit the library with programs and various services. Examples include:

A gift from FAL to the Friendship School After-School Program

Giving Back to the Community – Albany Schools and Albany Friendship Club After School Program

  • We donate books and magazines to the Friendship Club Afterschool Program and Albany Schools by request to be used for reading, educational purposes and crafts (magazines). Our donations are greatly appreciated by the Friendship Club Afterschool Program and Albany Schools.

Miscellaneous

  • Archiving Historic documents
  • Friends provide magazines and some materials for crafts
  • After sales, unsold books are donated to local non-profit organizations and Bay Area teachers
  • Selected books and magazines are set out for FREE

We continue to partner with the library, the City and AUSD to provide support for more events developed to benefit the library patrons and the community
