I’d Rather Sleep Rocks the Albany Library
I’d Rather Sleep is a teen rock band from the SF East Bay, playing local all-ages shows since 2021. The band members represent three different high schools (Berkeley, El Cerrito, and Albany). Their music combines the urgency of punk rock with the heart and sensitivity of pop. In 2023 they recorded an album “Not for Long”, featuring 10 original songs that explode with youthful energy and passion. The band plans to blow minds open wide in the same way that the library’s books and information do. Link to event for more information: I’d Rather Sleep Rocks the Albany Library

Thank You Event
The Pandemic was a physical and mental blow to all in the United States. However, major cities like those included in Northern California were hit extraordinarily hard. Our Thank You celebration is a tribute to Moms/Caregivers, First Responders, Government Organizations, Nonprofits, Library Members, the Friends of the Albany Library, ACL, Volunteers, and the Community for continuing to support the library through this challenge. We would have had a hard time continuing to serve the community without your support. We will hear tributes, listen to live music by Charged Particles and enjoy light refreshments and coffee. The event is first come, first serve. Link to event for more information: Thank You Event at the Albany Library
