Movie Theater Camp
The library’s Summer Adventure wraps up with a matinee showing of Theater Camp. This comedic film follows a group of awkward theater kids and eccentric theater adults who come together at a chaotic summer camp. Will they be able to pull off an original musical theater production before the end of summer? Will the struggling camp manage to stay in business against all odds? Storytime and Craft with Author Elisa Kleven
Come make collage characters with Albany author Elisa Kleven! Elisa, the author and illustrator of many children’s books, including Sun Bread and The Lion and The Little Red Bird, will conduct a workshop for children of all ages. We will create fun characters, build simple stories, and create collage worlds on paper! Elisa will also read her book The Paper Princess, and show original artwork and rough drafts from the book. Summer Arts & Crafts: Button Flower Bouquets
Make a flower or bouquet using colorful buttons in this hands-on class. Learn how to arrange buttons into flowers and create a decoration, gift, or keepsake to take home. All supplies are provided. You are welcome to bring special buttons or charms to personalize your bouquet. First come, first served. Limited to 20 participants. Back to School – Make Your Own Beeswax Food Wraps
Learn how to make reusable beeswax wraps to cover food and reduce plastic use. These wraps can be used for bowls, sandwiches, and cut fruits or vegetables. This is a hands-on class. You will make your own wraps to take home. Supplies are provided. You may bring your own cotton cloth if you would like to use it. A fun, relaxed space to talk about books. This book club is led by high school students and for high school students. This meeting we’ll discuss And Then There Were None, by Agatha Christie. Learn how to use Ancestry Library Edition to research your family history in this beginner class. We are excited to announce a One-Day Pop Up Book Sale on the front patio (facing Marin) of the Albany Community Center!
