How the Friends Benefit the Albany Library

Each summer the Albany Branch Manager provides the Board of the Friends of the Albany Library with a proposed list of programs, materials, and projects the Friends could fund.

Each year FAL donates almost $50,000 to benefit the library with programs and various services.  Examples include:

*PROGRAMS
Storytellers and Performers
Poetry
Origami/Craft Programs
Family Sing-a-long weekly
Knitting - weekly
Book Discussion Group

*Microfilming & Microfilm Reader

*Miscellaneous
Archiving Historic documents
Friends cull donations for materials the library wants.
After sales, unsold books are donated to local non-profit organizations and Bay Area teachers.
Selected items are set out for FREE
